Before you meet anyone
Meeting an individual first encountered online involves inherent risks. Use reasonable caution. Before developing a serious relationship, satisfy yourself independently about the other person’s identity, background and representations.
When meeting for the first time, consider a public place, tell a trusted person where you are going, and arrange your own transport. nri.wedding does not supervise private meetings between members.
Exercise additional caution before travelling internationally to meet another member. nri.wedding is not responsible for travel arrangements, visas, immigration requirements, accommodation, expenses or safety associated with such travel.
Money: the warning that matters most
Be extremely cautious if another member asks you to send money, transfer funds, pay medical expenses, pay travel expenses, pay customs charges, invest in a business, purchase cryptocurrency, provide banking credentials, provide OTPs, provide credit-card information, lend money, act as guarantor, pay immigration costs, or make any other unusual financial payment.
A romantic or matrimonial relationship is never proof that a financial request is genuine. Report suspicious requests immediately.
If members independently decide to exchange gifts, money or property, nri.wedding is not a party to that arrangement. Obtain independent advice before entering significant financial commitments.
What to report
Use the report and block buttons if you encounter fraud, impersonation, harassment, obscene content, threats, financial solicitation, fake photographs, someone married presenting themselves as unmarried, or any other serious concern. Reports should be made in good faith.
nri.wedding may preserve and disclose information where required by applicable law or valid legal process, and may take reasonable steps to protect members where there is a credible safety concern.
